IJ Centre, Clementi

Located in the heart of Clementi, the Infant Jesus Centre (IJ Centre) provides children from disadvantaged and challenged background with a nurturing, caring, secure and educative environment where life skills are taught and character building, emphasized.

Set with a ‘homely’ environment, we provide Residential Care and ‘Out-of-School Hours’ Programmes for the children at-risk.

Residential Care Programme
Children, between the ages of 2 and 13 years, who are from challenged family background are accepted if they meet the eligibility criteria of low income and/or in situations of need for care and protection.

With a conducive ‘home’ environment, these children receive the much-needed care, attention and support while they learn to build their confidence as well as internalize positive values and life skills.

Services provided include school work supervision, social and life skills training, small group care and counseling as well as the provision of self-development and sporting/recreational activities. Where applicable, we also assist the families by referring them to specialized care programmes/services.

Out-of-School Hours Programme
We provide care and educational support for children before and after school hours. These children are from families where parents/guardians may be single, possess low educational qualification, suffer from physical or mental disabilities, face emotional and social problems such as poor money management skills or family violence.
